This simple module add link to the root category (something like "Home") to the menu bar. Although where is other ways to do same (like this http://www.magentocommerce.com/wiki/how-to/add_home_link_to_menu_bar ), this module has one great advantage - it allow you avoid hardcode link in the template. So you can no longer worry about how to move hardcoded links when upgrading to the new version of magento or changing a theme. Simply install HomeLink module and enable it in admin area.
